Regal Business Link, the importers of Famous Grouse Scotch whisky, organized the Famous Grouse International Shotgun Foursome Golf tourney at the prestigious La Meridien Gokarna Golf Resort, November 4. The winner, Binod Shrestha, will now participate at the San Merino Golf Tournament for the world amateur tile. The number of participants was 72.
While Shrestha will take part in San Merino contest others who did well are Anand Gurung (Runner-Up), D C Khanna (Senior Champ), Raj Pradhan (Best Grouse), T Kimata (Longest Shot) even as Sanjeev Rajbhandari was Nearest to the Pin. Similarly, Haris Gorcia took most birdies even as Best Back Nine was Ian Macandra while Martin Van Can was the Best Sportsman. Best Font was K G Shrestha.
In fact, the event was also organized to mark the 52 birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Aishwarya that was celebrated on November 7. It may be recalled that the organizers of the golf tourney were associated with promoting the causes of nature conservation in Nepal last year. In fact they were involved in the job being conducted by King Mahendra Trust For Nature Conservation in the Manaslu region.
As their press release said, they had also contributed to the cause of renovating Thumba Narayan temple in the Manaslu region. The promoters generate money by organizing gala dinners, the way they did this year at the Yak and Yeti on November 5.
